mystery mist in a spring creek

80F temperature in the air, 50F in the water, the combination make the mystery mist roll in when sun is slightly out of power, a tailwater/spring creek special.. a wonderful place to hide out from the heat waves..

sulfur hatch

trout hunting in a spring creek.
fishing in a tailwater creek, after a long silent morning, suddenly the river was "decorated" with some little yellow dots on the surface... The little "drifting yellow dots" brings the life immediately back, woke up all the fish in the river... an really amazing encounter!

Meiser rod collection from Slow fishing

Check out a recent post from Mr. Yun in Slow fishing, LINK his Meiser collection is quite impressive! AWESOME all the way actually! : )
One of the reason I love the Meiser MKS rod is the distinct feel! The reverse, "parabolic" taper really make this rod a easy casting rod for big flies... It bends deep and power from the bottom section make a enjoyable "sling shot motion". such a great rod to fish with!! Eh......I miss the swing! I need to get out and swing more flies!

Buena Vista Social Club

The recording, named Buena Vista Social Club after the Havana institution, became an international success, and the ensemble was encouraged to perform with a full line-up in Amsterdam in 1998. German director Wim Wenders captured the performance on film, followed by a second concert in Carnegie Hall, New York City for a documentary that included interviews with the musicians conducted in Havana. Wenders' film, also called Buena Vista Social Club, was released to critical acclaim, receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary feature and winning numerous accolades including Best Documentary at the European Film Awards.
The success of both the album and film sparked a revival of international interest in traditional Cuban music and Latin American music in general. Some of the Cuban performers later released well-received solo albums and recorded collaborations with international stars from different musical genres. The "Buena Vista Social Club" name became an umbrella term to describe these performances and releases, and has been likened to a brand label that encapsulates Cuba's "musical golden age" between the 1930s and 1950s. The new success was fleeting for the most recognizable artists in the ensemble: Compay Segundo, Rubén González, and Ibrahim Ferrer, who died at the ages of ninety-five, eighty-four, and seventy-eight respectively; Segundo and González in 2003, then Ferrer in 2005.

dry fly fishing

It was one of those days that fishing god paged me unexpected, so I have to just go and drink some coffee with him. I thought about old school style before I went, fiberglass rod and clicking reel. Cortland Pro Crest was one of my top choice, smooooth is the game this rod play. A perfect set up for swinging wetflies... (I have been fishing wetflies a lot lately and really enjoyed it.) Well... I DID think about wetflies fishing, but you never know what fishing god have prepared for you... a perfect weather and nice caddis hatch, fish are looking up, splashes along with caddis dancing on the surface... and the flow is just perfect for dryfly fishing! I am glad I brought my dryfly rig with me... SAGE XP 5 weight and SA sensitive trout 4 weight line. Long cast and long distance mend is the ticket...many trout, and all on top, double caddis (#22 turkey caddis + #14 X caddis).
