Vlad, Indeed! The switch rod is awesome tool for shooting. I haven't use them in the surf yet, but I heard they are pretty good in fishing shooting head line. BTW, I really do think the finese of fiberglass material will just add another bonus for the spey cast... I am still waiting for my Mcfarland 7wt blank to me...should be a nice one! ;)
I am a biologist grew up with a fishing rod in my hands. I have been fortunate enough to embrace my love of art and science in my career. Most of my free time were well spent in the nature, either studying bird behavior or chasing variety of fish with fly rods. My favorite art medium is watercolors, I love the natural and spontaneous feel created by watercolor pigments. I am currently a post-doctoral research fellow at Harvard University. Welcome to my website. Mark

This second video has a great explanation of the snap t... very nice!
I also think that glass can make some awesome switch rods-not high power speedy graphite style, but nice and fishable classic rods.
Totally agree! Vlad,
FF has nothing to do with the power...It all about "the feel"! That's what fiberglassflyrodders say : )
