GREAT LINK! Check out the funny photo though of the angler with plastic nose/mustache June 2-8, 2008. You can tell that fellow makes sure that the day stay fun.
Thanks for the information Hitoshi! That is very neat! I don't even know he use the native material. Awesome. I saw his article in a FF magzine when I was visiting Japan. The reel and rod is just wonderful... I would say... as good as Hitoshi's collection : ) I am getting into those nice reels after seeing Hitoshi's fine collection! : )
I am a biologist grew up with a fishing rod in my hands. I have been fortunate enough to embrace my love of art and science in my career. Most of my free time were well spent in the nature, either studying bird behavior or chasing variety of fish with fly rods. My favorite art medium is watercolors, I love the natural and spontaneous feel created by watercolor pigments. I am currently a post-doctoral research fellow at Harvard University. Welcome to my website. Mark

The finish of the bamboo rod which this builder makes is a URUSI (URUSI=lacquer tree=JAPAN)
I hear from a friend that it is a very good rod!
