Dirty! dirty! dirty! Yeah... it's the worm! Heavy, sink fast and "chewy". Vladi T. use those Vladi worms to win the Fly fishing world championship. The name of the game is Polish Nymphing! : )
Did you tie those with the ribbed for the fishes pleasure? :)
I saw Jack Dennis do a presentation on his technique here at the Anglers Symposium a few years ago. Very interesting stuff that definitely works in the right situations. Dennis did say it was hilarious watching him buy the necessary product to tie them in the pharmacy.
ha! Thanks for the great story... Indeed! it's another alternative pleasure we spin... on the outdoors : )
I love the idea of heavy fly... I think I am gradually eliminating the use of split shots... so the set up would be simple and less tangle up, hopefully... a single straight leader with two flies, one heavy, one light.
I am a biologist grew up with a fishing rod in my hands. I have been fortunate enough to embrace my love of art and science in my career. Most of my free time were well spent in the nature, either studying bird behavior or chasing variety of fish with fly rods. My favorite art medium is watercolors, I love the natural and spontaneous feel created by watercolor pigments. I am currently a post-doctoral research fellow at Harvard University. Welcome to my website. Mark
